DSS Partners launches online B2B Oracle ATG sites and mobile web solutions for lawsonproducts.com and kent-automotive.com

lawsonproducts.com’s new online shopping experience simplifies purchasing by enabling their customers to easily find items via the faceted search and providing all users a rich personalized experience.

DSS Partners, a provider of “best-in-breed” Enterprise eCommerce and Mobile Solutions for leading names in Retail, Manufacturing and Distribution, announced the impending launch of completely revamped Lawsonproducts.com and Kent-automotive.com sites. Both Online and Mobile Web solutions were optimized for Smart Phones and Tablets utilizing responsive design practices.

Lawson Products, Inc. (NASDAQ:LAWS) is a national distributor of Maintenance, Repair and Operations (“MRO”) products and specialty components to the industrial, commercial, institutional, and governmental markets. They provide products to several specialty businesses encompassing a vast number of categories including automotive, agriculture, construction, and transportation. Kent Automotive, a division of Lawson Products, is a supplier of products for the automotive aftermarket.

Lawson Products’ B2B e-business strategy is to offer a personalized experience while extending and integrating that tactically with their internal Sales Representative model. Lawson Products purchased the Oracle ATG Web Commerce platform to help realize their vision and strategy.

Lawson Products engaged DSS Partners to assess and take over their delayed eCommerce implementation project. DSS Partners provided Lawson Products with a technology roadmap to complete the multi-site, B2B Oracle ATG Web Commerce Solution that provided complex B2B capabilities across two countries and currencies.

Key B2B capabilities include:

  • Role and security based access to the Online and Mobile channels allowing Sales Representatives and managers to place orders, see customer-specific pricing and manage associated account users.
  • The online and mobile channels support complex B2B pricing rules including tier, contract, list and promotional prices to ensure customers see their price when logged in.
  • Registration workflow allows customers to place an order without an account number; enabling customer service to complete the registration.

DSS Partners built data integrations between the Oracle Web Commerce platform and SAP for data such as; Customer, Sales Representative, Pricing, Orders and real time integration for tax, freight, pricing and stock levels. There were additional integrations including the synchronization of Catalog data with Informatica/Heiler’s product information and digital asset management systems (did we build these additional integrations?).
Lawson Products recognized the importance of focusing on both the Online and Mobile Web channels; after the revamped eCommerce websites were launched DSS Partners architected a Mobile Web solution for Lawson Products that leveraged the same code base, business rules and data integrations as the eCommerce websites (anything about responsive web design in here?).

The new Online and Mobile Web solutions have enabled Lawson Products to achieve an all time high for eCommerce revenue.
